HGMV authorises the holder to drive a Heavy Goods Motor Vehicle — any goods carriage of GVW exceeding 7,500 kg (10T / 16T / 25T / 31T / 49T trucks, tippers, tankers, trailers). Minimum age 20 (some states 21), 1 year LMV-T, Transport Badge, 3-yearly retention.

Surveyor's verdict / key conditions सर्वेयर की जाँच
For every HGV claim: verify HGMV endorsement on the DL, badge, retention receipt. For hazardous-goods HGV (tanker, chemical carrier, LPG bowser), add the Hazardous-Goods endorsement + PESO training certificate — missing either, insurer may deny the OD and Pay-and-Recover TP. Also match class with permit (an HGMV cannot drive a HPMV even for a short joy-ride).
